Ravana Cave
In accordance with mythical legends, this is the very location where King Ravana concealed Princess Seetha. Nestled upon a picturesque mountaintop, it’s believed that a tunnel once linked the cave to Dhowa Raja Maha Viharaya. To reach Ravana Cave, travel 6km along Ella – Wellawaya road from Kumbalwela Junction in Badulla Bandarawela Road. Proceed for another 1km down Ravana Viharaya road to the ancient Ravana Ella Raja Maha Viharaya. From there, a 500m stairway journey will lead you to the cave’s embrace.
